G'day, I have been meaning to reply to say i had received my amplifier, I eventually found the time to install it, my cruise control worked straight away, no problems, been using it daily for the last few weeks.

Thanks for first class service.
My cruise control of Passat runs OK. The module is installed some days ago by me, not difficult operation.
I've written a story in finnish to a VW-forum:

Vakionopeussäädin-onkelmakokemus:
Pasuunan säädin jätti toiminnat pois, ja ostin e-Baystä uuden viiksen (oire ilmeni, kun hipelöin viiksen kiihdytin-liuku-namiskaa).
Marmoritiskillä maksoi po. viiksi 86e, sain 43e postilaatikkoon toimitettuna e-Baystä. Asennus n. 60e (räjähtelevät airpägit pelotti).
No vakiona ajonopeus pysyi 3kk:tta.
Sitten ei toiminut kuin epäsäännöllisesti.

Diagnoosi (ilmainen) vikakoodin lukuna osoitti, ettei ole mitään vikkaa, vaan tarvitaan 1-1,5h vian etsintää marmoritiskin toiminnan miehiltä á 70e/h, sum n. 100 e. Pelottelivat viälä ohjausyksikön vaihdolla, hinta yli 300e. (töineen).

En ostanut palvelua.

Toinen paikka, jossa vika olla voi, on kytky- tai jarrupolkimen P/I- venttiilissä, kannattaa sähkökoplaus ja ilmaletkut tarkistaa, notta ovat kiinne.

Ostin lopputulemana http://www.remanufactor.com/ -sivuilta kunnostetun poksin, eli ohjausyksikön. 100e kotio kannettuna.
Vaihto 0e. Poksi on muuten hanskalokeron takana. Ohjainyksikön koodin voi lukea pikkasen peilin avulla vänkärinpuolelta kojelaudan päädyn luukun avaamalla, samanlainen luukku kuin sulakekansi. Esim. minulla ohjainyksikkö on sama kuin "Audin", ei VW:n.
Ohjausyksikkö on kiinni 1 kpl koneruuvi, vaikka korvakkeita onkin 2 kpl.

Hi, Ad,

shortly the story is following: A guy had problems with tempomat, bought a
controller-handle from e-bay, after exchange was operating 3 months, then
went to service, no fault codes found, were suggested to order service for
fault finding, appr. 100euros, also told that propably controlbox needs to
be exchanged, price over 300e`s .Did not buy that service.

Then he bought from you the unit with 100e´s, delivered home. Exchange 0
e´s, tells also how to do the job.

So, your good reputation seems to be spreading in Finnish-tempomat users
also into VW -owners, I just don´t know where picked up the text? Looks like
more and more orders to you are coming in future from Finland?

driving some 900km´s and operation is perfect! All functions are ok, so
thank you so much!

Can I publish your web- site on national Mercedes-forum, I know that my
tempomat was not the only one with problems?

Hey,

today the unit arrived and I've already built it back into the car. What
shall I say - every function of the tempostat is working now.
Of course I'm very happy because it's really comfortable using the cruise
control function. One year ago I built this used cruise control afterwards
into an old Citroën XM in which you can travel very relaxing for hours. And
if crusise control works again, riding becoms once more comfortable...
This is really good work, you've done! Thank you again!

I have a 1991 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit II with a VDO Cruise Control which is not working.

I have removed the Control Unit which I can send to you if you can repair it.

It is a VDO 412 212/4/1 with a date stamp of 06/91

Is this something you can repair?

Can you please tell me how much it will cost to repair, how long it will take and where to send it to.

Hi Eddie,

Is no problem these units we can repair also.

The repair itself normally takes one or two days. Mostly the shipment
takes the most time. You can offcourse ship it with priority. The
repair cost are 60 euro exclusief shipping cost, cheapeast way is 5,50
euro, no ensurance.
